Tom
Westbrook, Ph.D., serves as Professor of Adult Learning and
Organizational Performance at Drake. He is the coordinator of the
graduate degree program in Adult Learning and Organizational
Performance. Tom teaches in the areas of adult learning, distance
education, leadership, and training and development. His current
research interests include learning as a core value and
effectiveness of distance education applications. He is a frequent
presenter at corporations, colleges and other organizations on the
various adult learning, leadership, and distance education topics.

Robin brings practical experience as well as scholarly knowledge to
Drake having worked for more than 25 years inside corporations and
in her own consulting practice partnering with organizations on
individual and organizational improvement initiatives with an
ultimate outcome of improving business results. She is a fulltime
faculty member in the Adult Learning & Organizational Performance
program and teaches in the areas of training and development,
organizational development and technology.
Robin received her Ed.D. in Educational Technology and Leadership
from Pepperdine University, C.A.S. in Teaching, Curriculum, and
Learning Environments from Harvard, M.Ed. in Educational Technology
from Lesley College, and a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from
the University of Wisconsin. Her current research interests include
individual and organizational performance improvement (including
exploring the relationships between leadership behaviors,
organizational climate and business results), as well as the
integration of technology as a tool for learning.

Julie Caspar, founder of Caspar Consulting, has over 20 years of Human
Resources experience in Compensation, Training & Development and
Generalist HR. Prior to establishing her own consulting firm, Julie
held professional to executive positions in a variety of organizations
which included Pharmaceutical, Higher Education, Wholesale
Distribution, and Financial Services. She has worked in jobs located
on the East Coast and in the Midwest in international, domestic, union
and non-union environments.
Julie now partners with clients, providing compensation and
performance management consulting/program design services. She
received her graduate degree from Drake University’s Adult Learning and Organizational Performance program in 2003 and is an active member
of WorldatWork, SHRM, and ASTD.

Terri Deems, PhD, is
executive vice president of Deems Associates/WorkLife Design, a
management consulting and training firm with offices in Ankeny,
Scottsdale, and Moline. Terri works in areas of personal and
organizational change, development, and transformation including a
wide range of learning programs for leaders and employees. Terri is a
recipient of the 2000 International Cutting Edge Award presented by
the Academy of Human Resource Development for her research on natural,
vital workplaces, and she is a frequent presenter at regional and
national conferences.
Terri also enjoys working with adult learners at several area colleges
and universities, facilitating courses in training and development,
organizational behavior, ethics, organizational diagnostics and
interventions, human dynamics, and leadership theories. Terri received
her BS in English/Secondary Education, MS in Adult & Continuing
Education, and PhD in Community & Human Resource Development, all from
the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Terri's has recently co-authored a new book, Leading in Tough Times:
The Manager's Guide to Responsibility, Trust, and Motivation (HRD
Press).

(Marchelle) Max Gage is
a training and development professional in Des Moines, IA, who has
been involved in the field for more than 13 years. She started her
career at Meredith Corporation, and then moved to several other local
organizations before starting her own consulting business in 1997.
The majority of Max's experience has been in the actual classroom,
helping others with skill development in customer service, sales,
leadership and other related areas. She has worked with local
companies, as well as businesses around the country. Max completed her
Masters degree in Training and Development at Drake University in
1997, and has been teaching ADED 264, Methods and Technologies of
Facilitation. She is delighted to be a part of the program, as she has
felt it was a great experience for her professionally and personally,
when she attended as a student. She has been active in the local
chapter of ASTD, where she served on various committees, as well as on
the Board. Interests outside of "work" include traveling, eating,

Lee
Johnsen has held officer and management positions in Fortune 500
corporations and government agencies. His experience encompasses
strategic planning, succession planning, training needs assessment,
design, delivery and evaluation. He has extensive experience in
instructional design and work process documentation and improvement.
He holds a graduate degree and is a certified professional of Human
Resources, Performance Technology, and Organizational Development.
He is among the first to receive his Certified Professional of
Learning and Performance (CPLP) designation from the American
Society for Training and Development (ASTD). He is a published
author in the book, “Real World Teambuilding Strategies That Work”
(Insight Publishing).

Alex
Lemke, CLTC, is the Director of Regional Training for The
Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. Prior to joining The NMFN,
Alex worked an independent consultant, specializing in training and
performance solutions. Her experience has allowed her to assist
adult learners in many arenas for over ten years. She holds a
Master's Degree in Training and Development from Drake University
and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from The University
of Iowa. She also holds a Certification in Long Term Care.
