Professional Qualifications
Teaching: Developed and implemented the technology integration plan for the certification programs in the Teaching and Learning Department, Drake University. Member of the design committee for the Education Technology Concentration at the graduate level at Drake University. Developed and taught a wide variety of courses in teacher education: Educational Technology, Educator's Electronic Toolbox, Advanced Technology, Advanced Digital Production and Dissemination, Foundations in Education, Senior Seminar, Human Development and Learning, General Secondary Methods, Contemporary Issues in Education, Management and Instruction Seminar, Models of Effective Teaching, Leadership and Dissemination, Women in Education, Speech and the Classroom Teacher, Human Relations, Issues in Secondary Education, Adolescent Literature, English Methods.
Administration: Coordinated faculty personnel procedures within the department, made recommendations regarding hiring, induction, retention, development, promotion, and tenure, coordinated curriculum and program development within the department, worked with the Asst./Assoc. Deans in matters of Student recruitment, admissions, advisement, certification, and graduation. Prepared tentative course schedules and faculty assignments, submitted an annual budget for the department, approved and directed, in accordance with accepted procedures of the School and University, purchases and expenditures within the budget, coordinated and facilitated departmental research, grant writing, and publication efforts. Coordinated and facilitated departmental public relations efforts and service projects. Designed and implemented the current Student Teaching Program, wrote the handbook and assessment instruments, hired student teacher supervisors, worked with mentor teachers and supervisors to put a coaching model into place.

in education, models and methodology. Author or coauthor of seven funded
research grants ranging from $500.00 to $155,000. Reviewer for Journal
of Teacher Education and Sex Roles: A Journal of Research. Reviewer for
