My Philosophy of Teaching & Learning

The act of teaching cannot be separated from the process of learning, for without reflection and continued learning by a teacher, the act itself becomes a mechanical recitation of information. Effective teaching can be exciting because it is active, involved, and satisfying for all participants, creating a community within the classroom that shares knowledge and builds meaning together. I enjoy learning from and with my students as we continue to change and grow, exploring both the ideal and the real. No teacher is perfect because we are human, but I do believe we can make a difference one student at a time.

"We work in the dark,

We do what we can,

We give what we have."
