No one holds
the staff accountable for following through with the whole PBS process
from the school-wide system to the individual piece (such as reteaching
expectations), some staff are not buying into PBS.
• 5% of
the teachers are at the top of the triangle (consider FBA approach for
those staff)
• One school used a traveling mug with cocoa, hot cider, etc. to
recognize those teachers who are participating (positive reinforcement
for staff)
• A lot of PBS criteria can be used in their evaluation
• Goose award, students nominate a teacher weekly (get out
of school early and principal takes over the class or letting them coming
in late)
• Assemblies and school wide activities that recognize teachers
• Get teachers on individual teams where they hear it is working
(contagion effect)
• Remind them of their commitment
• Use your power of ideas
• Incorporate into CSIP, make it part of the system
• Go over team checklist, and reprioritize and analyze data
• Administrators can incorporate it into the new teacher evaluation
based on participation in school-wide initiative
