• Solutions to Common Problems At some of the trainings we asked our coaches and teams to brainstorm 'solutions' for common problems. Below are some of the problems listed and suggested solutions. 1. How do
we improve or encourage more visible administrative support for PBS? 2. We are
an early childhood center and have not been able to generate school-wide
consequences. (Looking for creative ways to deal with this) 3.
How can we handle high school students who,
when expected to follow the schoolwide expectations, decide they just
want to leave and go to the alternative school? (This is a student/parent
decision in this district and PBS is not in pace in the alternative school.) 4. We are
preparing for consolidation and expanding PBS to an intermediate school.
How do we bring new staff on board? 5. No one
holds the staff accountable for following through with the whole PBS process
from the school-wide system to the individual piece (such as reteaching
expectations), some staff are not buying into PBS. 6. Why do
we use rewards/recognition? 7. Suggestions
for rewards at the elementary school level 8. Suggestions
for rewards at the middle/high school level 9. Links
to other web sites with ideas for rewards/recognition: 10. New staff,
new leadership members, new administration - brainstorming strategies
for orientation 11. Tips
for new coaches 12. Strategies
for linking initiatives and reducing confusion 13. Bringing
new staff on board and keeping buy-in of present staff About
