  1. Assign the students homework, the day before, where they are required to read about positive/negative numbers and integers.
  2. The objective is to have them understand that positive and negative numbers are in a set called integers.
  1. After the students are in their groups, have the groups get to the computers
  2. Give them the five resources which are listed below.
  3. Have them go to these websites, and they can find more if they would like, but have them start with these and ask each of the groups to go through and define what the three types of numbers positive/negative and integers are along with prime and composite numbers are.
  4. After they are finished with the initial search, use the rest of the class to find more math websites and write an annotated list. For each additional website found which contains the information about the latter numbers, they will receive an credit point.
  1. Now that they know what prime, composite, integer, positive, and negative numbers are, have them try to define what real numbers are.
  1. For the next class, or assuming that there is ample time in the period, have each of the groups write out what all five of the definitions of those numbers.
  2. Review them in class, and make sure everyone understands them.
